Gotta say, caviar and sushi are two of life's great pleasures in my book.

I could never get enough of either.

I do agree with you that I have no interest in trying guinea pig.

Crossover cuisine we encountered (but never actually ATE) when we were in Scotland: Curried haggis!

Am curious about one thing though -- why didn't you like mangoes?

You don't like crab either? What's going on?

I always thought cream tea was cream in the tea, but it's not. It's tea (with milk in it, if you choose -- I don't -- I horrify the Brits by insisting on drinking black tea), but the scones have a dollop of thick, not whipped --darn, I can't remember it's proper name -- on them. It's not bad.

Because of all the time I spent in Scotland, I tried Haggis once -- mostly so I could speak in an INFORMED way when I say I've done it once and I NEVER have to do it again.

I don't like cavier, but I do love sushi when it's fresh. Cornish pasties are only good if you're actually in Cornwall -- otherwise they taste like sawdust.

I ate crocodile in Australia -- it was actually very tasty, and I had no sense of guilt, because if the tables were turned, he would have eaten ME, and without even bothering to season.

I also had kangaroo, which was too sweet, dense and rich for me, plus I felt guilty eating it.

Every time I go to New Orleans, I think I should try oysters again, but so far, I haven't brought myself to do it.

Interesting list!

Reindeer? You mean like Comet and Cupid? Oh, I just couldn't. But I've always meant to try haggis. Great list!

I hope you don't mind, but I posted my take on this list at my blog.

No mango?
