OK, who the heck is singing this? I got it from LimeWire, where it was listed as Elvis, but it's definitely not.

Oof! There are a lot of recordings of that song - 540 listed on allmusic.com - I looked to see if there were any recent movie soundtracks listed, but no. That guy's voice kind of makes me sleepy...

It sounds like whoever it is was raised in a former British colony...

Reminds me of Seu Jorge, the guy who sang those delightful Bowie covers on Life Aquatic.

Oh My God. I don't know, and I don't want to ever hear that again. Whatever that was nearly ruined the song for me. Vocally, that song belongs to one person only IMO. But I think Ivy's Dominique Durand or Stereolab's Laetitia Sadier could probably pull it off. Or, of course, Astrud's step-daughter Bebel.

I think that's Elvis in his later years, say sometime after 1977 which explains why his voice sounds so different.

No, I'm quite sure it isn't Elvis -- I still listen to him quite a bit and am very familiar with his "aging" voice, and I've Googled my little fingers off with no sign of him ever having sung it (although his wife, Diana Krall, certainly does).

Elvis wasn't singing much after 1977, if I recall correctly.
The voice sounds familiar in the way that most of pop radio sounds familiar to me, but I can't place it.

Haha! Boy, I surely was talking about a different Elvis.

Sounds to me like a Vegas Tom Jones impersonator.

Terrilyn, that was funny - Elvis sounded VERY different after 1977, all right.
