Yikes, the readers of the Times are a tough crowd. In response to a call to eliminate certain overused stock words from book reviews, close to 200 comments have come in, banning pretty much every word ever used to describe a book. I'm not sure there is anything left for a critic to say besides "I liked it" or "I didn't like it."
