Wow, this never happens, but I'm finding that I wish tomorrow weren't Friday, because I didn't get enough done this week!
I'm annoyed because my main contact at my biggest client left the company, but he assigned me one last project before he went. Turns out that the person who took his place wants something else entirely done with it, blahblahblah; long-story-short version is that I wasted about 15 hours (for which I'll get paid, but still). And of course they want it asap—doesn't everyone? This is the same client that got bought out a few months ago, and I am still waiting to be paid on an invoice from late June as well as another from mid-September (curiously enough, I did get paid for an invoice during the summer). Yesterday I think I finally found a live body in Accounts Payable who understands what's going on.
Speaking of which, I am still doing my best to understand my new bookkeeping responsibilities. I keep making maddeningly dumb mistakes, but I'm learning. I spend one day a week at Andy's office, but then I also put in several hours throughout the week at home, accessing the work computer remotely from our home computer. Which is really pretty cool, when you think about it.
On top of all that, I have a million and one other things going on, from meetings about charitable events to volunteer gigs at the school to things I promised various people (online and in real life) I'd do to all the errands and household stuff that keeps piling up.
One bittersweet piece of news is that I am not hosting Thanksgiving this year! My cousins have offered to "give me a break" this time around, although I really do enjoy preparing that big feast. So I'm disappointed but at the same time grateful that I don't have yet another big project to be worrying about this month. I better get some leftovers is all I can say!
