Yesterday was supposed to be the day that Julie painted a Halloween scene on the window of J.P. Licks (our favorite ice cream parlor in the world—how lucky is that?!), but in case you hadn't heard, we had a bit of weather in these parts yesterday, so they extended the festivities until today. (The festivities being the annual Halloween Window Painting Contest, in which kids in grades 3–8 paint Halloween scenes on local merchants' windows. It is so. freaking. cute.) Today was still cold, but we were in direct sun and it was downright pleasant.

Yesterday was Soccer in Inclement Weather Day, which Andy celebrated without me. I was never so happy to stay home and edit a nursing manual. I did brave the elements for Date Night, though, of course.
