I really liked that book, and then was sort of annoyed by the soggy ending. Not that I can imagine how better to end it, either, though. And the thing that really got to me was the sense of being so trapped by your life.

The dip sounds wonderful. And I don't think I've seen the different colored carrots. I have seen the peppers. Bet it was pretty and very tasty.

I have only read one other book by Sarah Waters and this one has been on my radar. Great review, I will definitely check it out.

I listened to the audiobook edition of The Paying Guests and thought it was excellent! I can't see reading it with any of the book clubs I'm currently in, but I could see it leading to a great discussion! I like the sound of the dip, too!

I have to read The Paying Guests. And your dip sounds delicious.
