I've finally committed myself to putting all my music on my iMac and iPod, so I've been busily importing CDs all week. (Note to self: Find person who invented CD jewel case. Kill said person with shards of all crushed jewel cases.) So now, with some 1200 songs loaded—and room for about 7 times that over again—I feel a bit more confident participating in Rox's Friday Random Five (in which, you might recall, one chooses "Shuffle" on one's iPod and then reveals the first 10 songs that come up):
1. Cormac McCarthy, "Waltz with the Captain's Daughter"
2. Martin Sexton, "So Long Suzanna"
3. Peter Keane, "Pack Up Your Sorrows"
4. Eric Clapton, "San Francisco Bay Blues" (live unplugged)
5. John Hiatt, "Tip of My Tongue"
6. John Prine, "Grandpa Was a Carpenter" (live)
7. Lyle Lovett, "Cowboy Man"
8. Chris Smither, "Homunculus"
9. Prudence Johnson, "Who Woulda Thunk It"
10. Dave Matthews, "Me and Julio" (live)
