We finally, finally took the kids to Story Land. Every summer I found a reason not to go—namely, "There is no way in hell I'm taking a baby or toddler there." Well, we finally grew all our babies up, so off we went. It was really, really fun. The place is huge, clean, safe, well organized, efficient, and cute. It was a very sunny but dry day, so we were hot but not dangerously over-heated. And anyhow, we discovered the many opportunities (some nearly unavoidable) to get wet there, to wit, we rode the Bamboo Chutes, oh, I'd say 10,000 times or so! Even Julie! ("I yike de BIG spyash!") I'll post photos tomorrow.
Because the place is geared to little kids, it's ALL families with strollers and backpacks. No wilding teens, no angsty twenty-somethings. Very wholesome. And exhausting. Andy and I were sound asleep that night by 8:30.
