10:30 a.m. I take Julie to gym class. She refuses to participate in the first half of class, which consists of marching, singing, clapping, stretching, etc. She wants me to hold her. As soon as they open the gate to the tumbling area, she is gone from my side like a bullet from a gun. She runs! She jumps! She rolls! She hangs, swings, slides, and bounces! Then, just before the beloved bubbles/parachute/ hand stamps portion of the class, she announces she wants to leave. I call her bluff and start to walk out the door. She calls my bluff and walks out ahead of me. We leave.
1:30 p.m. Stephanie, Pete, and I meet the bright, sweet, pretty Kate and she is hired to be our new babysitter! Woo-Hoo! She starts tomorow. I do dread the initial learning curve (where we keep everything, who likes what foods and how to prepare them the one and only right way, which TV shows/videos/snacks/ games/toys/behavior are allowed, and so on), but it must be done.
4:00 p.m. Steph and Pete have their first swimming lesson at the new pool. I'm unable to hide my shock when I learn that the indoor pool renovations have not been completed, so lessons will be outside. This is fine today, which happens to be warm and sunny (and the pool is heated), but this session goes through Nov. 2! They liked their teachers but both felt their classes were too easy.
5:30 p.m. We pick up Andy at home and go back to school. First we stop in on Steph's and Pete's teachers, then we head outside for the school picnic. Such fun! Everyone spreads out blankets and either brings food or has ordered pizza through the PTO. Steph and Pete run around with their friends, and Julie makes the yuckiest poop in history, and I don't have an extra pull-up with me because she had made the second-yuckiest poop about a minute before we left home.
