Yesterday Pete took a group karate class and was by far the smallest kid there (there was another boy from his kindergarten class, but he's bigger than Pete). Pete looked like a tiny twig in his karate gi. His puny little wrists didn't look capable of supporting the fists at their ends. But he did everything he was supposed to (although we clearly have to work on right vs. left*) and loved it.
*Once I was invited to play Twister with my sister and her friends. They noticed that I kept clapping my right hand over my heart when it was my turn. It didn't take long for them to realize that I had to pretend to pledge allegiance to the flag in order to remember which was my right and which was my left. They all got a big kick out of that one, let me tell you.
