You have to specify from a non-smoking home? I have never heard of that. I think there is nothing more disgusting or pervasive than smoke smell. When we go camping and I am around a campfire, it takes days for me not to smell a bit of smoke in my hair, even after washing it! Both our girls loved American Girl Dolls-what a fun memory!

You don't have to specify, but most sellers do indicate it clearly. Unless, of course, they chain-smoke.

I made the same mistake with a Halloween costume a couple years ago. Try washing a giant spider. It wasn't pretty.

P.S. The menorah is gorgeous! Are the candles textured or just patterned? I have to say, I harbor a bit of menorah envy during December.
