Please, someone, tell me what "The O.C." stands for—is it Orange County? I've never watched the show, but I keep hearing it mentioned.

I think so, but I've never watched it either. I don't watch TV, especially when I have a good book to read.

Yes, that's what it is. Everyone's beef with the title is that while people in southern California often call Orange County "OC," no one calls it "THE OC."

Yes, it refers to the TV show, which I've never seen.
I grew up in Orange County, CA and my friends & I referred to it as "behind the Orange Curtain" :-)
