Recently I decided that I was being too much of a hard-ass about what movies Stephanie could see. Up till now, she's seen only a couple of non-animated movies, and they were pretty babyish. So I rented "The Parent Trap" for her (the remake, because I figured she would enjoy it more), and to say she loved it would be the greatest understatement of all time. I ended up having to buy it! But here's the kicker: I let Pete and Julie watch it too! So why did I wait until Steph is 8 1/2 but Pete is only 6 and Julie just 3 1/2? Because I'm a crazy person, that's why. Anyhow, the movie is loads of fun, there's nothing in it that I can really disapprove of, and that Lindsay Lohan is adorable! (I think she is an actress or singer or something now, but I of course have no idea about anything popular anymore!)
So now I'm going to be hunting for other inoffensive movies that will seem cool for Stephanie. Suggestions?
My niece loves the "Madeline" movie and I'm sure that would neat with your approval. Perhaps "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," however, it may be too much for your younger children.

It has been a long time since I watched “The Never Ending Story” but, I think it might be good for younger children. You might want to preview it first.
