I got my ring back yesterday! I still don't understand how he replaced the prongs, but he did. But what stunned me more was how the ring looks after a ride through their ultrasonic cleaning machine. I am absolutely dazzled! I can't believe how dingy it was, and how used to its dinginess I'd become. I can't keep my eyes off this ring now! Those of you with diamonds, I urge you to go into a nice jewelry store and ask them to clean your ring. (You can at least pretend to be shopping for something new anyhow.)
I'm not a big diamond fan, myself. I wear a simple gold band like Tolkien's One Ring. Only without the fiery letters and evil and so on. It is kind of scuffed up, though. Perhaps I could have it buffed.

When I got my diamond, the jeweler told me to brush it gently with a toothbrush and liquid soap--it works, but maybe not quite as thoroughly as the ultrasonic.

I'm really lazy about keeping my jewlery clean. I know it makes it look so much better, but I just don't even think about it.
