There was a great documentary on, I think, the E! channel, about the making of Jaws. Since you don't watch TV, you probably haven't seen it, but it was fascinating. I wonder if the Behind the Scenes feature was similar. The back story is just as good as the movie. For instance, the way they used the music and underwater camera to convey the scariness of the shark without ever having a shark in the scene. Interesting stuff, I agree.


That sounds like exactly what I saw!

I'm glad there wasn't computer imaging available in 1975. I think Spielberg really showed his genius by being limited by what was physically possible to film.


And I guess that the mechanical shark misbehaved or didn't work a lot of the time. My husband is a big fan of the movie,and watches it every time it is on TV.
