Stephanie's been waiting her whole little life to be in third grade so she could participate in the city's annual Halloween Window Painting Contest (for kids in grades 3–8). Everywhere you went yesterday, you'd see parents standing around shivering and sipping coffee and tea while their kids painted masterpieces on merchants' windows. Stephanie's came out great, and she was really pleased with herself. I was very glad we'd gone first thing in the morning, because it started raining later on. Then, horror of horrors, when Andy went to get coffee this morning, he saw that her painting and all of the others on that side of the block, had been completely washed away by last night's rainstorm. Most other paintings around town were still intact, but every now and then a few were gone. We didn't tell her; she would have been absolutely crushed. I just have to avoid that part of town with her until after they clean off all of them anyhow.
Great painting, Steph!

That sounds like a great program. I have never heard of anything like that.
