We saw one of the best and one of the worst movies in history, back to back.
Best: If you haven't seen "Mad Hot Ballroom," do it now—it just came out on DVD. I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't love this movie. It's a documentary about a 10-week ballroom dancing program for fifth graders in New York City. I just can't say enough about how wonderful this movie was. I was grinning and weeping with joy by the end.
Worst: Do not, I repeat, do not, under any circumstances, rent "Dot the I." Even if you love Gael Garcia Bernal (I'm talking to you, Nina), trust me, it's not worth it. Andy went up to bed after the first half, which was beyond trite. Then the second half turned into a "let's see how many plot twists we can create" contest. It really, really sucked.
I also loved Mad Hot Ballroom. The most fun I've had at the movies in quite a while. (I've linked to my review if you're interested on a second opinion.)
