Today I chaperoned the third-grade field trip to the Arnold Arboretum. I'm ashamed to admit that it was my first time there! (As far as I'm concerned, that's the best part about field trips—Mom gets to visit all the stuff she never got to see! I still haven't even walked the Freedom Trail, if you can believe it.) The Arboretum is a huge, gorgeous place, and the weather was just right for a fall outing: chilly, windy, and bright. Just what we needed after 8 days of rain!
Update: Forgot to mention the best line of the day. We were breaking pine needles and sniffing the aroma. One little boy said, "Mmmm! It smells like a car air-freshener!"
