Now this is rain! Yikes. If this is just the remote remnants of Hurricane Wilma, I'm feeling even more grateful that I'm nowhere near her. I can't recall such a windy, rainy, cold day in all my life. I'm glad I was able to convince Andy to cancel his driving trip down to Connecticut and New York. Now I wish I would hear from my folks, who insisted on driving down to Florida over the weekend; last we heard they had no power and I haven't been able to reach them today.
Julie uses wind as a verb (with a short i, as in windy), synonymous with blow: "I don't like when my hair winds in my face."
She also uses "flat" to describe my hair when I'm pretty sure she means "straight"!

Yup, she contrasts other people's "flat" hair with her own curly hair.

Tuesday was officially the beginning of socks for me. I always morn the loss of my summer feet in loafers, clogs, sandals - whatever. Once I have to put on those black socks I know winter is around the corner. I already look forward to that day in May when I put my socks away. For now it's "find the winter boots, soon."

I'm the same way. In fact, on Monday I was walking to pick up the kids from school, and another mom said, "It must be cold if YOU're wearing socks!"
