Last night we went to a party at Kathleen and Atul's. All the kids were playing in the basement, but Julie got lost trying to find me upstairs and that scared her, so she was on me like velcro for the rest of the evening. Andy had to leave to go pick up his parents at the airport (yes, they are back, safe and sound, from their trip to Egypt and Jordan), otherwise he would probably have just taken her home because Steph and Pete were having fun with the other kids and I would have liked to stay too. Ah well! She's been fighting off a cold and cough for a week now, so that probably made her a little more clingy than usual.
This afternoon Julie and I went to Carissa's birthday party at the Puppet Showplace Theatre. The show was "Father Goose Tales" done in shadow puppets by Jim Napolitano (of "Between the Lions" fame). It was terrific! For a solid hour, Julie had such a look of pure delight on her face. She was laughing and clapping and singing along the whole time.
Then this evening Andy's parents came over for Thanksgiving leftovers. I had already run out of stuffing so I made some more—that was a first, making stuffing two days after Thanksgiving! I'll have one last turkey-stuffing-gravy sandwich tomorrow and that'll be the end. Really.
