Nine years ago tonight I was recovering from the 28 hours of labor it took to push Stephanie out. I remember one of the nurses noticing that it was the winter solstice. "Oh, this is the longest night of the year!" she said. "Gee, ya think?"
Well, now my big girl has pierced ears and a proud smile on her face. Nothing could ruin her buzz tonight, not even Julie throwing up into her plate of cake and ice cream. (She was up most of last night and home from school today with a tummy ache. Now we know why.)
Happy Birthday, Steph!
It's hard to believe how fast time passes, isn't it? Pretty soon, you'll be dealing with a lovely pre-teen. I really loved my girls at Steph's age! Enjoy it while you can.
