Whenever it occurs to me, I thank every possible divine, natural, or circumstantial force for giving me three healthy, wonderful children. Usually it's when we have a near-accident, or when I hear of another person's tragedy, or some other time when I'm just feeling so damn lucky and blessed.
That all being said, it's rather humbling to be filling out all these summer camp forms and devoting a whole page to Stephanie's colitis, Pete's stuttering, and Julie's bifocals. How I long to write "N/A" in the "Other Concerns" category! But no, I have to mention that Steph takes a pill after lunch and needs to have access to a bathroom at all times; Pete needs to be allowed to make it to the end of every sentence on his own without prompting or teasing; and Julie sees double without her glasses so she has to wear them in the pool. ($78 for tiny prescription goggles? I don't think so.) Sigh.
