As you know, I adore my gadgets, but my heart will always belong to traditional books and paper. The last time I did much freelance editorial work, it was nearly all done on hard copy; nowadays it's virtually all virtual. I miss my colored pencils and flags! I have a Palm that I never use anymore; I prefer my calendar on the wall, my checkbook register, my address book, my scraps of paper containing shopping lists and to-do lists and phone numbers and reminders. Yes, sometimes things fall through the cracks, but I'm generally pretty good at managing my paper. I like to glance at my wall calendar and flip ahead or back a month. I'd rather scrawl "baggies, OJ, bananas, cashews" on a piece of paper than whip out my Palm. To be certain, there are many things that are easier to do on the Palm than on paper; like input a recurring event on your calendar just once, search for and change items, cross-reference things appointments and phone numbers, and so on. But I'll still always be a paper gal at heart. (And I doubt I'll ever read an electronic book—I like turning pages, although I gotta admit that a search feature would be very exciting at times.)
So. Deb found this adorable little pocket notebook that you can modify to suit your needs. I made one and will give it a try; a weekly version might work out well. It's free and easy to make.
The PocketMod is awesome!! I can't wait until I have some free time to fiddle (and fold).
I, too, gave up my Palm and my organizer and went back to the backs of envelopes, etc. I have found, though, that a slim pocket calendar with month and week is indispensible. It lives in my purse and gets moved with my lipstick, cell, and wallet. I slipped some sticky notes inside and it's just about perfect!

You might want to also take a look at the Hipster PDA, which is along similar lines - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hipster_PDA

I've seen that, and I both get the joke and see the appeal, but I like the PocketMod because it folds up flat.

Ok not your problem but I must be the only person on earth who can't figure out how to fold the pocketmod. Maybe midlife ADD? Can anyone help???
