ThinkingWoman said this:
if your marriage is threatened by a gay couple receiving the same piece of paper you did, you got married for the wrong reasons. you fell into the trap that marriage is the country club you join when you grow up in order to achieve a fully vetted and validated status within society, and that it will lose all its value once they start letting everyone in. and what does it say about your standards that you'll let anna nicole smith and britney spears in, but not my friends rob and ted? dumb, dumb, dumb.
Right? Right.
AMEN.

Yeah, I heard Senator rightwingwacko from Kansas say something about wanting to protect "the sacred marriage between a man and a woman". Protect it from what? He sounded like something was happening that was going to PRHOHIBIT marriages between men and women.
Why would allowing two committed people of the same gender to legally marry and create a family unit threaten your marriage or mine? I just don't get this.

Hear, hear! (Or is it: here, here!)
Meaning: I agree.

Absolutely. As I told my daughter, the fact that gays are gay shows that Adam and Eve, and Adam and Steve, and Eve and Maeve are all part of God's plan.
