Sorry I haven't been blogging much of interest lately; the hectic back-to-school period happened to coincide with three freelance projects all at once! One of them is in Italian, so I'm in heaven. I haven't gotten a chance to work on an Italian project since I worked in-house, more than 10 years ago. It's not as exciting as my (dashed) dream of working on a cooking-related project, but it's fun—and I'm very proud of how much Italian I've retained!
Back-to-school, on the one hand, frees up a lot of time for me because the kids are in school all day. (Duh!) But there's tons of paperwork to fill out, phone calls to make, appointments to schedule, backpacks and lunchboxes to empty and fill each day, and so on; not to mention the chauffeuring to activities. Plus I'm trying to catch up on a backlog of errands and appointments for myself.
Speaking of which, I did get my hair done yesterday. I had her cut off a good 2–3 inches in addition to the color job. She suggested strongly that I can't both complain about my hair and refuse to use the products she recommends, so I bought three different products and tried them out this morning. They're supposed to enhance the curls and get rid of the frizzies and make my hair shiny and do the laundry. Whattaya think?
That was taken using the MacBook's "Photo Booth," so it's a mirror image.
Love the hair. I envy your curls and blow-dryer-free world.
