FRIDAY
Weather was perfect—exactly why people talk about "autumn in New England." Bright sun, blue sky, light breeze . . . positively magnificent. And, as luck would have it, I was accompanying Steph's class on a walking hike of natural and historical sites nearby. I learned a lot about my neighborhood and had a lovely walk to boot. No photos, though, sorry! Didn't even think to bring my camera.
SATURDAY
Weather was about as bad as it gets around here this time of year: gale-force winds, driving rain, raw temperatures. Result: No soccer, no Halloween window-painting contest, school's Fall Festival moved indoors.
SUNDAY
Weather was dry but bitterly cold and still quite windy. Halloween window-painting contest was held, so Mom got to stomp in place while Steph created her masterpiece:
Steph's expression can attest to the windiness, although I can't say I recall enough sunlight to create that dappled effect.
MONDAY
Who can remember? Monday is Monday, regardless of what the weather is.
TUESDAY
Weather cooperated for the all-important trick-or-treating festivities! This was a big deal, because all three kids had costumes that did not lend themselves well to parkas either over or under them. The weather was mild, the kids were out of their minds with excitement, and Halloween was good. I present to you, the rock star! the clone trooper! the cat!
Remind you of anything? Maybe next year we'll branch out a bit.
Hey, once a rock star, always a rock star.
