"Liam" is a good, small movie, about anti-Jewish and anti-Irish sentiment in Depression-era England. Really strong performances and a tight little plot make this a solid winner, although terribly sad. Anne Reid has a nice role as a Catholic school teacher, who is surprisingly kind but woefully misguided.
You know exactly what you're getting if you rent "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism": a scathing expose of Fox and all its lovely personalities. No big news or surprises here, but it makes for interesting viewing if you're of a particular persuasion. Like me.
Harvey Keitel must have been playing Mother Theresa all these years, because now I've seen him in "Bad Lieutenant" and I'm afraid. Holy shit. Not for the weak of heart or stomach.
I fell asleep during "Postmen in the Mountains" and felt no need to watch the rest the next day. It's about a rural Chinese postman. Nice, but not even remotely compelling.
