I am going to postulate that the upcoming three days without U.S. mail is unprecedented. Anyone care to challenge me on that? No disrespect meant to Gerry Ford, but couldn't they have made the no-mail day later in the week? I was at the post office today, mailing off my BAFAB offering and my holiday new year's cards, and there was a line out the door with people also mailing off their cards (Ha! I'm not the only late one!), returning unwanted Christmas packages, etc. I asked the postal workers if they get paid for Tuesday, and they said yes, but they also complained that Wednesday is going to be a hellish day for them.
I'm sure the Netflix people are none too pleased either.
I am so glad you are complaining about this, too. I suppose George W. doesn't use the mail like us common folk and therefore didn't realize how disruptive it would be?
Happy New Year Karen!
