I've been thinking about how my slippers could have gotten "lost" in my office for so long, and about how I have no idea where the kids' birth certificates are. I'm not sure, but I'm starting to think that there might be some clues to these—and maybe other!–mysteries in the following photos of my office.
Well, the desktop yields no big surprises: Everyone knows that two Macs are better than one:
But, when I, um, swivel my chair around, here's what greets me:
And if I extricate myself from the rubble, here's the view from the doorway:
Those banker's boxes? They're from when I left my job in 1995. They moved with me to this house, along with the larger boxes. I'll unpack them one of these days, I swear. And I'm sure I'll find all kinds of treasures*—but not the kids' birth certificates, because they were all born after these boxes were packed. Sigh.
*When the company was sold, the office-supply nerd in me helped myself to as many post-it notes and colored pencils as I could scurry away with. Oh, and lots of floppy disks–lotta good those did me....
Whoa! Impressive! :)
Here's my desk at work:

I have to say that it comforts me to see this! I had you pegged as so entirely neat and orderly that you'd probably just gag if you saw my house. We're running out of space to put stuff and so the answer to that issue lately has been "see how tall we can stack a pile." It's getting a bit out of hand.
But I'm really glad to see you are normal! :o)

Now I see how you have time to watch a movie every night! I still don't know how you write this blog? How many hours a week does it consume?
