I received a great suggestion about my horrible food photography: Stop shooting every damn photo from a bird's-eye view. It seems so obvious now, but of course food doesn't look terribly appealing from that angle. So yesterday when I made Asparagus Pesto with Tiny Potatoes and Pasta for a party, I took this photo:
Isn't it gorgeous? Compare it to the overhead photo I took last year, and I think you'll agree that I'm on to something. Oh, and with spring threatening to appear one of these days, it's a perfect time to try this yummy recipe. I found a sack of those cute little rainbow-colored potatoes; they weren't exactly marble-sized, so I quartered them, and they looked very pretty.
It IS a nice picture, and yet all I can focus on is the fact that you and I have the same kitchen wallpaper. What are the odds? ;)
