Today we're expecting temps to get up to 70°! It's sunny and gorgeous. Yesterday too, and I bought myself three bunches of daffodils to celebrate:
And, yes, I can hear you thinking out loud. Yes, there is something worse than my flower arranging. It's my photo composition, particularly of food. Last night I made a batch of applesauce that was so pretty I almost wept. But look how blah it looks here:
I never would have thought that food styling and photography were such mysterious arts. Sigh.
Umm...are there supposed to be actual photos that we can SEE or are we truly just imagining today?

All it needs is a hand (and just a hand - preferably a child's) holding the spoon!

It is way hard! But it's that elusive pursuit of excellence that is so fun.

1. Wipe the rim of the bowl with a damp towel.
2. Either
A. add cinnamon to make the applesause look less like pureed brains and drab it down to the background tone or
B. change the background to a brighter shade of green so it matches the current tone of the applesauce.

The wiping of the rim is something I usually do -- and in fact I think I did but then messed it up again when I stirred it! As for cinnamon, it's in there, but the applesauce is naturally pink because I use the reddest apples I can find. I don't think the color was a problem, and I don't like to actually change the colors.... Someone suggested I not shoot it from above, which can only help, I think!
