I'm not big on change in general, and it especially irks me when changes make things worse. Take my beloved Poland Spring "sport pack" water bottle (left), which I've been buying by the case at Costco for eons. We keep them in the cars, in the sports bags, all over the place. We refill them with Brita-filtered water a few times, until they get skeevy, and then we recycle them. They hold 24 oz., have a top that's easy to push up and down, and just in general feel right in size and heft.
So the last time I went to Costco, I noticed that the tops were blue (right)! But that's not all. The top flips up and stays attached, so it whacks into the side of your mouth and your cheek while I drink. And they now contain only 23.7 oz. They're also slightly taller and more elongated, which makes them look like they contain more when in fact they contain less. The shape should translate into a better grip, but the plastic seems flimsier, so they're actually less comfortable to hold; they compress too easily when you drink from them. Boo on you, Poland Spring!
