It's that time again: Can you identify these songs from only two lines of lyrics? And remember, Googling is for losers. (Answers to come later in the Comments.)
1. I was watching while you're dancing away.
Our love got fractured in the echo and sway.
2. Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge
Drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain.
3. I used to be so much more open minded
And I used to like to fall in love.
4. Being good isn't always easy
No matter how hard I try.
5. In the empire of the senses
You're the queen of all you survey.
6. No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind.
7. Why'd you have to get so drunk
And lead me on that way?
8. People say believe half of what you see,
Son, and none of what you hear.
9. I don't know where life will lead me
But I know where I've been.
10. I can hear her heartbeat for a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles.
OK, if Googling is for losers, then I'm wearing that big L on my forehead all day today (sigh). I only knew two of them off the bat, but I was able to place four of the others in context once I looked them up - I don't think I've heard the rest, so at least I learned something today ;-).

To clarify: Googling is for losers ONLY if they Google to cheat at contests. So you are in the clear. :-)

You have MUCH more eclectic taste than I. However, #4 is Dusty Springfield... or at lease she sings it, too.
