Pete's been playing draw poker for a while, but yesterday I suggested to Andy that it was time he learned stud poker. I prefer 7-card stud, but we started with 5-card stud so it would be at least a little similar to 5-card draw. After a few hands of that, he was ready for 7-card stud. I thought that he might be confused by having to mentally ignore 2 of the cards, but he caught on very quickly. I'm hoping he has inherited Andy's card sense. I love cards and can play most games well enough, but I just don't have card sense. I particularly suck at all those trump games, like whist, oh hell, hearts, and—worst of all—bridge. I not only can't keep track of all the cards that have gone by, I can't seem to make my brain grasp all the intricacies of trick-taking strategy.
