Well, we're up in the White Mountains for the last blast of the summer; tomorrow's the big fair. Today we communed with nature in Franconia Notch. Here we are exploring the Flume Gorge:
It's breathtakingly beautiful. Steph was in full "This is so boring" mode, but Pete and Julie were all "Wow! Look at this! Look at that!"
Can you believe I've been coming up here several times a year since the late '80s and have never done this little hike? And it's only about 15 minutes from the house....
Oh, and here's our fearless leader, fresh from a visit to Polly's Pancake Parlor:
That looks beautiful. I had a trip to Acadia up in Maine last week and that was great. That was my last big summer trip. I live in Boston.

We all know Steph is actually soaking it in. She'll probably remember how pretty it was, not her own grumbling mood. It's nice how the good stuff usually sticks in the brain.
It does look gorgeous there. My mind half expects to see an Iroquois pop out from behind a tree.

The nature is stunning...all that lush green and water flowing over the rocks! I wish I were there, too!!!
