We rented "Grease" for Steph, who immediately fell in love with it and watches it as often as we'll let her. It's really good, clean fun (although I wasn't happy about having to address questions about why Rizzo might think she's "knocked up"...) and the songs are terrific. I was in the play at camp one summer, so I know every word to every song—much to Steph's dismay, because I sing (badly) at the top of my lungs.
Anyhow, she came across this, which I think is just so clever (as well as evidence that some people have way too much time on their hands). Having just seen the movie a couple hundred times, I can verify that the blocking, choreography, hand and head gestures, etc. are flawless.
I'm not too proud to admit that Grease is still one of my favorites. I sing along, too. Loudly.
The Lego Stockard Channing is dead-on, but I don't get why Danny Zuko is wearing a airplane pilot's uniform.

LOVE Grease. Grease 2 with Michelle Pfeiffer is my favorite though....and I don't think there are any unwanted pregnancies in that one.

As you can see, I am REALLY behind in my blog reading! I remember renting Grease when Haley was about 4 and Rory was about 2. They loved it. Haley fell asleep for part of the movie the first time we watched it and when she woke up, she couldn't understand by Danny ended up with "that girl" instead of Sandy!!! She really didn't recognize the "tarted up" Sandy!
For my friend Casey who is a closet Christian in a Jewish family, we adapted Beauty School Dropout to:
"Hebrew school drop-out;
no big Bat Mitzvah for you!"

Yeah, it's not exactly a lesson I want to teach my kids -- change so you can be the way the boy wants you to be, even if it goes against everything you believe in!
