I started reading this list of the Top 529 Eternal Questions in Popular Music, but it got too weird and chatty, so let's do one ourselves, shall we? They started off with these:
How many roads must a man walk down?
What if God was one of us?
Who let the dogs out?
So, here are the first few that pop into my head:
Should I stay or should I go?
Do you really want to hurt me?
What do you want the girl to do?
What's love got to do with it?
Where have all the flowers gone?
What's so funny 'bout peace, love, and understanding?
Ready? Go for it.

Is there anybody going to listen to my story all about the girl who came to stay?
Why don't we do it in the road?
Oh dear, what can I do?
What would you do if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me?

What is love anyway? Does anybody need anybody anyway?
Baby, baby - where did our love go?

How soon is now?
How does it feel to be on your own, no direction home, like a rolling stone?

What am I doing hanging round?
If a picture paints a thousand words, then why can't I paint you?
Who do you love?

In reference to your question, Karen, "By the way, who is Pink?" is a line from the song Have a Cigar from the Pink Floyd album Wish You Were Here.
The album represented Roger Waters taking over the band Pink Floyd, but was also a tribute to the founding member, Syd Barret, who was kicked out due to overindulgence in hallucinigenic and psychotropic substances, as well as a lifelong suffering of various psychological problems. The irony, or urban legend, was that Syd apparently was working as a studio hand during recording of the album.
Anyway, the reference, from the song, is basically some studio executive wondering which member of Pink Floyd was named Pink, even though the name of the band is the culmination of the names of two (reasonably obscure) jazz artists.

What if God "were" one of us. That Joan Osborne and my mild mannered husbands hates that song with a passion. I hate it when people don't use the subjunctive.
