Last week, when the playoff schedule was announced, Barbara & Jerry realized that they couldn't use last night's tickets because they had a wedding to go to, so they offered them to us. Much to the shock of many around us, we declined, because we had been planning for some time to go out to Mistral for our annual anniversary splurge. (Our anniversary is on Tuesday.) Neither of us really had to ponder it for more than a minute.
We had a lovely evening and felt especially glad of our decision when (1) the game ended up going until something like 1:30 a.m., (2) it was cold out last night, and (3) we got clobbered by 7 runs in the 11th inning. I can't imagine a more miserable way to have spent our anniversary than shivering out there, way past midnight, as the Indians scored one run after another.
Whether the Sox lost because no one from our family was at Fenway to serve as a good-luck charm is open to debate.
But what did you eat? I love hearing the details of your dinners there.

Gladly -- and you will especially appreciate that we had a bottle of 2004 Tinto Pesquera!
I started with Maine Crab Ravioli with Thyme-Tomato Broth and then had the Half "Whole Roasted" Duck with Wild Mushroom Risotto and Cranberry Gastrique for my entree. For dessert we split a Warm Chocolate Torte with Vanilla Ice Cream and Sauce Anglaise.
Mmmmm
