I pass this sign in my neighborhood nearly every day, but I rarely have my camera with me. Today I brought it along so I could share it with you: This example of (very) mildly subversive suburban graffiti always brings a smile to my face.
I think that's from an album cover that came out a couple of years ago for some rock band that I'm too old to appreciate. Almost all of the crossing signs in the Seattle area have been similarly marked.
And you live in the land of XKCD (xkcd dot com), where things like this (http://www.flickr.com/photos/kirinqueen/sets/72157602199538930/) happen. Love those MIT (etc) students!

Wow, I know of the comic strip but didn't realize there'd been a "convention"!

I collect XING signs:

Can I add this to the album? I'll credit you, of course.
