My cookbook project finally arrived this afternoons (just about 2 weeks later than promised, but who am I to gripe?) and I've been positively giddy with excitement waiting for the kids to go to bed so I can dig in. I was grinning like a fool just flipping through the pages and, especially, reviewing the book's style sheet.
Then I noticed something: "Use red pencil." HUH? Forget it, the deal's off. Yeah, right. But, but, but, I don't have any red pencils, just green! And I can't lose a few more days waiting for red Col-Erase pencils to be shipped. Then I remembered that when I was hunting at Staples for green Col-Erase pencils, I saw that Ticonderoga makes carmine red erasable "checking pencils." So I zipped over and bought a 4-pack. According to the back of the package, "This checking and editing pencil is a Preferred Choice of Teachers and other professionals." Well, that settles that! I'm sure they'll be fine for this project; I'll see how they feel, though, before I commit to them for next time. ("Next time"? Yeah! The cover letter with the project ended with "We look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship with you!") In any event, I'll continue to use my green Col-Erases for that other client. I do prefer green.
Have fun!

...for "Teachers and other professionals."
Kinda makes you want to go out and be a Teacher instead of one among the unrecognizable masses of "other professionals."
