My Birthday So Far

1. Last night Andy brought home flowers so that I could enjoy them for my entire birthday, beginning when I woke up this morning.
2. Since the kids are on school vacation, I got to sleep in this morning.
3. When I got up, there were lots of cards and drawings waiting for me in the kitchen.
4. For no really good reason, I decided to take the kids to Target, thinking we could save some money by getting swimsuits there instead of the traditional Lands' End mega-order. Wrong—the quality and fit just aren't good. But crowded? Hoo-ee.
5. Even worse, I thought it might be a good idea to have lunch at Friendly's, along with every other family who just spent too long at Target and was suddenly starving. We had to wait to get seated, waited even longer for our server, and then learned that they were out of chicken tenders and mac & cheese. How can Friendly's be out of the two staples of every kid's diet? So it was hot dogs and grilled cheese instead. And then they were also out of Oreo ice cream! Huh?! Lucky for me, they did have wifi, so I was able to Twitter about it.
6. Now we're back home, just hanging out. The weather is gorgeous.

Verdict: So far, so good!
