Pete had a baseball game yesterday in the blistering heat. He threw his filthy uniform in the washing machine afterward, but I forgot to run it. He had another game today (a make-up) and went looking for his uniform. Oops! I went to pull it out of the washer (it wouldn't be the first time, my friends) only to find that we had thrown all the wet swimsuits on top of it after our visit to the pool in the afternoon. So I threw the still-dirty, now-wet uniform directly into the dryer for a few minutes. I took it out, although not quite dry, and realized he would probably combust if he put it on (it was already in the 90s at this point), so I popped it into the freezer. Yes, you heard it here first.
Then I had to decide whether I would be a worse mother if I didn't go watch his game or if I dragged the girls out to watch it in this beastly weather. I compromised by picking up a few boxes of popsicles for everyone, bringing them to the game in a cooler, watching Pete hit a triple and then make a beautiful catch and subsequent play to first base, then took the girls to the pool.
Oh, and I bet he looked so handsome in his schmutzy, moldy, freeze-dried uniform!
Well done! I love it!

Jack played one of his games this year in a shirt covered with both all the stains perfectly applied by him, and Shout expertly applied by me to remove said stains. I had not planned on the water being shut off for repairs all day.
