Remember about a month ago when I mentioned that I was editing the posts over at The ConverStation? It's the blog from Ken George, WBUR's new-media guru, and whenever I see that a new post is up, I just sneak in and give it a quick once-over with my electronic green pencil. It's easy—and fun for a nerd like me.
The satisfaction of the work itself is reward enough, and I also like to imagine that it can serve as an additional "donation" to my favorite NPR station, above and beyond my annual pledge. But yesterday I received a package from Ken containing something he found in the depths of the SwagBin: He doesn't know how it came to be produced, but it's a T-shirt with the logo from "This American Life" (one of my favorite shows—yours too, I bet) and then something in an Asian language below. I'm assuming—nay, hoping!—it says "This American Life." Anyone know what language it is and what it says? "This American Life" in Chinese below. (Thanks to Lisa's daughter for the translation!)
Oh, and here's the little logo on the back:
Thanks, Ken, for the cool gift!
Hi Karen, my daughter told me that your shirt says "This American Life" in Chinese. Good to know . . .

You are more than welcome. And thank you for minding my apostrophes and misplaced modifiers. Wish I had more then schwag to reward your generosity. But then again this is public broadcasting, so it's not like we have any money....
Now that I am buddies with one of the marketing guys, I should be able to score more premiums. But sadly, it appears we’ve exhausted our stash of TAL branded stuff.
Glad this mystery was solved. And I missed that little logo on the back.
Really like your blog! Keep up the good work.
And you should know you have inspired me to subscribe to the Grammar Girl podcast.
