We have been incredibly lucky with the weather during our vacation! Every day has been spectacular—sunny, breezy, and dry. So much so that today, which once again dawned bright and gorgeous, Steph and Pete announced that they wanted to take a break from going to the beach. Huh? But it's a beach day! Andy and I found ourselves in the unusual position of trying to force them to get excited about yet another day of playing in the sand and swimming in the ocean. (Julie would live at the beach if we let her.) Instead we decided to hop the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for a mini-excursion. We didn't plan on staying there any longer than it would take to disembark, pick up some lunch, and get right back on the boat, and that worked out fine. When we came back, we went over to Mom and Dad's condo for a dip in the pool before taking the kids out to an overpriced mediocre restaurant for dinner.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Mom and Dad watched the kids last night so that Andy and I could go out to dinner alone. That certainly helps make it feel more like a vacation to me.
