I woke up this morning after a restful night's sleep for a change! I recall waking up once during the night, but I was able to fall back to sleep easily—that's usually the hardest part for me.
The morning dawned rainy but warm (it's 7:30 pm now and still 67°!), so Pete's last soccer game was a go. After losing every single game this season, they won this final one–thanks to 5 goals scored by Pete! He was on top of the world, understandably.
This afternoon I finished up my current project, two days ahead of the deadline, which means that I am free tomorrow and Monday! And by "free," I mean available to hang out with my kids, catch up on household stuff and errands, and maybe even relax.
Right now I'm having a glass of wine and poking around on the Web. The kids ate earlier and are now having some Halloween candy. Andy's cooking our dinner. Life is good.
Karen, I just wanted to let you know that you have a fan in Marshall, Michigan. My sister and I read you nearly every day. We're both liberal, working mothers who read a lot and cook too much. We joke that you are like a cooler, Jewish sister. Keep writing, sistah!
