See this bag? I bet that you can't guess what it's made of. In fact, I bet that even if you were holding it in your hands, you couldn't guess what it's made of—at least not at first.
I'll give you some clues: The mostly light brown color is very typical. The feel of it reminded me of very lightweight, waterproof straw.
Give up? It's supermarket plastic bags, sliced into strips and crocheted! My sister's friend makes these bags (and other items, like yarmulkes and belts) for fun. She uses only the crinkly kind of plastic bags you get at the market, not the smooth kind from other types of stores. I just looked through my bag drawer (what?) and found a great big royal blue one I'm going to give her.
Oooh, does she sell them? Does she need more bags LOL

Reminds me of the many handbags I saw in Mexico that were made out of candy wrappers.

Do I get any points because I guessed what it was made of before you told us? Not that I have sort of neurotic tendencies surrounding quizzes or puzzles or contests or anything.

Do you mean that she makes kipot out of the bags?? Are they cute? That would be so different for my son's bar mitzvah, and maybe could count towards one of his mitzvah projects. Does she even do that on such a large scale?
