Some of you might recall that a little over a year ago, I decided to become an Amazon.com associate, which just means that when I link to a book or CD or other item at Amazon, it contains an embedded code that points to me. If anyone uses that link to go to Amazon and buys that item or anything else on that shopping trip, I get about one-sixth of a half-penny. Or something like that. So far I've netted a whopping $15.05—most of which came from a one-time sale from someone who followed one of my book links and then ended up buying some really pricey electronics while there.
So, it occurs to me that if you're already planning to buy something—anything—at Amazon, and you think of it, why not start here? I've added an Amazon search box to my sidebar for your convenience. If you click on that and end up buying something, I get a kickback. (I can't earn points for myself, of course—whenever I remember, I like to begin my Amazon shopping trips at my local NPR affiliate, WBUR, so they can make a few extra cents without any additional effort or expense on my part.)
Let's make this clear, though: I'm not trying to get rich here. From the beginning, my goal was to make back $49.50, the cost of one year with Typepad, my blog host. And all I'm asking is that if you're going to make an Amazon purchase anyhow, you consider starting here.
Glad to do it, girl. Least I can do for all the entertainment and info I receive from you daily. Was planning on buying the new Jamie Oliver cookbook that focuses on local and seasonal food.

I've been an "Amazon Associate" for about a year now and I've earned a whopping $0.00. I thought it would cool to offset my blog cost, too, but alas...
