Yesterday Andy and I tried to count up all the weddings we've attended in our 22+ years together. We came up with 24, of which 5 have ended in divorce (so far). That comes out to something like a 20% divorce rate, considerably better than the infamous 50% figure we always hear about. So: If you want to have a long, happy marriage, consider inviting me and Andy to the wedding. I can't guarantee anything, but our record is pretty darn good.
Aw, darn, you're telling me this almost 25 years too late!

If I ever get married, I'll invite you guys, but don't hold your breath.

The summer that we got married, we ended up going to EIGHT weddings besides our own. And not even ones we could shrug off, but my best friend and his best friend and his sister and so on. We pretty well burned ourselves out, and have regretfully excused ourselves from every wedding in the two years since (except, of course, my brother's). This has nothing to do with anything, except that EIGHT WEDDINGS! Also, none of them are divorced (yet).
