It's school vacation week here in Verbatimland, and yesterday I said to the kids, "What should we do today?" Little did I know they'd chant in unison, "Go see Pink Panther 2!" Oy. It's too late for me, but you can save yourselves: Don't go see this! If your spouse owes you one, cash in that chit! Trust me on this. Particularly if you admire Steve Martin as a comic genius, because this is a criminal waste of his considerable talents. Add to that a corset full of gratuitous sexual references that were wasted on everyone (kids didn't get 'em, adults didn't laugh at 'em) and Lily Tomlin in a role clearly written-in at the last minute, and you've got the Hindenburg of comedies. I think the agents for Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina, and Jeremy Irons have some splainin' to do.
Today Steph went to see "Confessions of a Shopaholic" with a friend. Yes, I dropped them off at the cinema and picked them up 2 hours later. This, my friends, is the glory and the beauty of the older child. It's also what allowed me to escape the horror of "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" last month. Twice.
You might have done better with Coraline! It's actually worth watching.
