Exactly one week ago, I told you about SmallCanBeBig.com, a Boston-based charitable organization that lets you donate any amount, no matter how small, to help a needy family reach a specific goal. I started off by making a $10 donation to each of four different families that very afternoon.
A few minutes ago, I received an email saying that one of the families I chose has just reached its goal! Wow, talk about tangible evidence that I made a difference.
What if I had thought that $10 was too small of an amount to do any real good and decided not to bother? What if everyone thought that? Instead, a total of 55 donors came together to raise the $1500 that Project Hope will deliver to that family today so they can buy a car.
Now that's a Valentine's Day gift I can really feel good about.
